Hi Bettye,

Thank you for all the work that you have done for the Scotland Project. As you have not responded to our recent check in messages I presume that you wish to leave the project.

If you'd like to re-join us in the future, you can do so by replying to our current G2G Welcome post which is linked from the project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scotland

All the best Sheena

Hi Bettye,

It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:

•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future

You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.

On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!

Sheena - Scotland Project Membership Coordinator

Hello, Bettye. I would love to connect with you to learn more about the Lawhorn line, as we appear to match DNA on gedmatch and share common ancestors in William B Lawhorn and Martha Ferguson. Your James R Lawhorn's brother - William Thomas Lawhorn - is my great great grandfather. His daughter, Birdie Lawhorn, my great grandmother. Unfortunately I know very little of that branch of our family, as Birdie died while my grandmother was very young. Any help, stories, or information would be greatly appreciated!

I hope to connect soon!

Hi Bettye! Hope you had a good holiday season.

It's time for our annual Scotland Project check-in!

This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months. In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.

We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:

  • If you have not yet signed up to help on one of the project's teams, which team(s) would you be interested in joining?
  • How often should we provide a Project Newsletter?
  • Have you participated in the Tartan Trail? If not, is this something you'd be interested in doing?
  • Do you have a question(s) that we could add to a Frequently Asked Questions page?
  • Any suggestions or ideas you have on ways to improve the Scotland Project in general

We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.

Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!

Sincerely, Amy Gilpin on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders

Hi! I just wanted to drop by and say hello. I was thinking about you today, as I benefited once again from your note on a profile with the volume and page of a Richardson reference. Thanks again for all you do in WikiTree!

Hi Amy

Thank you for your post. Sorry, but this is the first post I have seen directed to me. Yes, I am interesting in continuing in the Scotland Project. My main contributions have been posting sources from Douglas Richardson's Royal Ancestry to profiles, which I was hoping spilled over into being a contribution to the whole of WikiTree. I am interested in the McPherson Clan. Right now, I am working on my husbands great grandfather, Charles Evan McPherson-2569, trying to combine records we have on him, that his family has found through the years, into a binder.

Thank you for all of the work you do in the Scotland Project!

Bettye

Thank you for checking in Bettye. Absolutely, all contributions made to Scottish profiles count as contributions to the whole of WikiTree. Good luck with your Clan MacPherson research!

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Hi! I see you discovered the Magna Carta member sticker. Actually, it's not for members, but for folks who are interested in becoming members. You're already a badged member of the project. You might be interested in adding instead a "Descendant" sticker (if you haven't already). They don't add a category (such as Category:WikiTree-36 Followup).

To see some tailored Descendant sticker coding, please see [this page].

Cheers, Liz

Mayflower Project Member.

I see your profile doesn’t include a mayflower G2G Tag. See “Followed Tags” above. You should have the tag - mayflower -so you can follow pertinent Mayflower activities on G2G. When you add the tag, please include the names of passengers in whom you are interested. Thank you

Your comment on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tempest-131 doesn't seem relevant. The William Tempest you mention was William Tempest Sr, not William Tempest Jr (so the comment is relevant one link higher up the tree. I'll leave the comment in place, but to me in its current context, it seems confusing.

Hi, I see the detailed comment you put on Herleve's page, citing Richardson. It looks like the narrative of Herleve and the parallel narrative of Robert include a likely daughter Alcie/Adeliza, who is the subject of your note. What is it you'd like to see changed or added?
