Widowed and living in Ardunsaghan, County Leitrim, in 1901 and working on his farm with four of his children (Laurence, Patrick, Bridget and Katie).

Points for Further Research

• Michael was probably the brother of Francis Holahan who also lived in Ardunsaghan and was a farmer.

• Michael was possibly related to Laurence Holahan of Drumcoura, a townland very close to Ardunsaghan and located in the same civil parish as Ardunsaghan (Drumreilly North). The naming patterns in the two families are also very similar - is it possible that Laurence was Michael Holahan's nephew?

• There was also a Lawrence Holahan living in Dunavinally in 1901. This locality is less than 5km from Drumcoura and Ardunsaghan. Could this Lawrence Holahan also be another relative?
