Nancy Harriet Hoke was born in1823 in North Carolina, the daughter of John Franklin Hoke and Barbara (Quickel) Hoke. Nancy married Lysander Doolittle Childs on 10 June 1843 in Lincoln, North Carolina.

Nancy died on 20 Dec 1873 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia and was buried in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina. [2]
