The son of Joseph Bailey Hogue (1860-1931) and Nancy Melinda Donahue (1876-1930), Curtis Hogue was born in Marshall County, Alabama{{citation needed]} in 1912, residing with his family in 1920 in Wickham Township, Alabama, in Limestone County.[1] In 1930, Curtis and his family lived in Mitchells Township, Alabama in Lauderdale County.[2]
Curtis married "Ada," about whom nothing is known, having one known son together, and residing in 1940 in Jones Chapel, Alabama,[3] farming on his own account. The marriage ended in divorce and Curtis remarried, marrying Bertha Louella (Creasy) Hogue and moving to Michigan. In 1950, Curtis and his family lived in Detroit, Michigan, where Curtis worked as the mailman at a rubber factory.[4] They later moved to Warren, Michigan.
Curtis Hogue passed away in Warren, Michigan[citation needed] at the age of 84[5] and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in New Baltimore, Michigan.[6]
