Biography

Mary Hoffmann was born in 1860 in the German Confederation. She was the daughter of John Henry and Anna Hoffman.^[1] She immigrated to the United States in 1880.^[1]

Mary married Henry Bollmann in 1882 in Cincinnati, Ohio.^[1] In the 1900 census Mary (age 39) was the wife of Henry Bollmonn in Wayne, Bartholomew, Indiana.^[2] In the 1910 census Mary (age 49) was the wife of Henry Bollmonn in Wayne, Bartholomew, Indiana, United States.^[3] In the 1920 census Marry (age 60) was the wife of Henry Bollmann in Wayne, Bartholomew, Indiana.^[4] In the 1930 census Mary (age 69) was the wife of Henry Ballman in Wayne, Bartholomew, Indiana, United States.^[5] Henry died in 1934.

In the 1940 census Mary (age 79) was the widowed head of household in Wayne, Bartholomew, Indiana.^[6] In the 1940s Mary lived on Route 8 near Columbus, Indiana.^[1]

Mary moved in with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Sager, a few years before her death. She died (age 92) on Sunday, 5 April 1953, at the home of her daughter on Seymour Route 4, Jackson County, Indiana. She had been ill for five months. Funeral services were Wednesday, 8 April 1953, at the Voss Funeral Home in Seymour at 1:00 and with Rev. O. W. Linnemeier at White Creek Lutheran Church at 2:00. She was buried in the church cemetery.^[1]
