Last Will and Testament:
John Hodgskins Will is extremely hard to read due to the nature of the handwriting. With that in mind, the following is an abstract of it:
On the 2nd day, 11th (?) mo., 1694/5, John Hodgskins of Chester County, Province of Pennsylvania tailor, executed his Last Will and Testament leaving his estate as follows: first, to his sister Francis Lodgslingotn (?) personal property; second, to his wife's sister (illegible) Ashton, personal property; third, to his friend John Wood of West Jersey, personal property; fourth, to his loving wife Mary Hodgskins a life estate in his real and personal property; fifth, to his son John Hodgskins real estate and illegible; sixth, to his daughter Hannah Hodgskins (illegible); and seventh, he nominated John Simcock, Thomas Borman (?) and a third person executors. Witnesses Charles Forman and Robert Barbor. Proof of Will August 15 1698 in Philadelphia.[2]
