Life-Long Resident Of Monroe Township Dies Saturday A. M.
New London, Ind., Nov. 9 - (Tribune Special) - Ossian Hobson, 79, well-known Monroe township farmer died at his home Saturday morning at 12:30 o'clock, after a week's illness of a complicatin of diseases resulting from advanced age.
He was born October 12, 1856, the son of Elihu and Sarah King Hobson. He married Narcissa Mendenhall October 12, 1881. She preceded him in death on September 10, 1929. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Grace Waldron and Mrs. Roy (Fanny) Jones, and one son, Enos, all residents of Howard county and all were present at the bedside at the time of their father's demise.
Others surviving Mr. Hobson are three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Estella) Elliott of Knighstown, Mrs. Lewis L. (Luella) McDaniel of Russiaville, and Mrs. Ira (Amy) Coate of Logansport; three brothers, Cadmus (Margaret) of Kokomo, Gurnie (Lenora) of Forest, and Fred (Zella) of New London. Three sisters and two brothers have also preceded Mr. Hobson in death. They are: Mary and Martha, who died in infancy; Mrs. Dougan (Lydia) Jones, whose home was formerly in New London; Donald Hobson, who lived in Kokomo; and Levi Hobson, in Wichita, Kansas.
