John Hoad was born on 15 Jun 1816 in Cranbrook, Kent, England to parents William Hoad and Jane Crampton. He was baptized on 11 Aug 1816 at Cranbrook, Kent.[1] [2]
He was the son of William Hoad and Jane Crampton.

Marriage

John Hoad married Elizabeth Bates on 12 Dec 1841 in All Saints' Church, Maidstone, Kent, England, United Kingdom. [3]

John Hoad was a carpenter and general contractor, and Mayor of Folkestone in 1871 and 1872. He was Justice of the Peace from 1879-1902.

John's wife Elizabeth (Bates) Hoad passed away on 27 Sep 1869 at Frittenden, Kent, England, United Kingdom. [6]

Elizabeth's sister Jane Bates married George Rofe Worsley in 1846, and in his later years Jane Worsley and her son Alwyn lived with him.[7]

John died 12 Mar 1918 aged 101 at 30, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone and was buried 19 Mar 1918 at Cheriton Road Cemetery, Folkestone, Kent.[8] [9][10] His will was probated on 29 Apr 1918 in Folkestone, Kent, England.[11]
