Biography
Melissa (Hitchcock) Tolles was born on 26 Jun 1821 in Burton, Geauga, Ohio, United States, daughter of Judge Peter Hitchcock (1781 - 1853) and Abigail (Cook) Hitchcock (1784 - 1867).
Her siblings were:
- Henry Lawrence Hitchcock (1813 - 1873)
- Peter Hitchcock (1815 - 1886)
- Cynthia (Hitchcock) Tolles (1825 - 1861)
Melissa married William Ransom Tolles (1823 - 1893) on 21 Nov 1850 in Geauga[1]. Their children were:
- Helen (Tolles) Morley (1853 - 1943)
- Melissa Ann Tolles (1855 - 1927).
Melissa died on 19 Jul 1855 in Burton aged 34[2]. She is buried in Welton Cemetery, Burton[3].
