Biography
Robert Hiron was born in about 1584. He was known as Robert of Westington.
He married Margaret Unknown. Robert and Margaret had at least 10 children, many of whom were baptised at Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.

in 1627 Robert was named, along with other worthies of the parish of Chipping Campden, in several deeds and decrees to the Court of Chancery in London. [1]
He was named in the 1647 will of his son in law Thomas Barnes. [2]
Robert had his own will drawn up on 21 Feb 1647/8.[3] He described himself as a yeoman of Westington, Gloucestershire and made bequests to:
- the poor of Westington
- the poor of Chipping Campden
- my sister Elizabeth Tanton (?)
- my youngest daughter Anne Hiorne
- my son John
- my son Humphrey and his children
- my daughter Martha Edden and her children
- my daughter Katherine Smith and her children
- my daughter Margaret Barnes and her children
- my daughter Elizabeth Durham and her children
- my son Thomas
- my daughter Anne Rose
- my son in law, her husband, Richard Rose
- my daughter Mary Jakeways and her children
- Robert, my godson, son of my brother John
- my loving wife (not named)
An inventory was taken on 7 Mar 1647/48 and is reproduced in full in an issue of the Campden and District Historical and Archaeological Society Notes and Queries. [4]
