Hi Lynden:
Ancestry kept coming up with the Andreas you have, but I didn’t have any direct documentation that that was the correct Andreas. As I recall the Hilpert correspondence I have says they were from Rodach, north of Nuremburg, whereas Blaufelden is southwest of there (I’ll go look this up to verify it). The impression I get is that there wasn’t a lot of mobility which, combined with the economy, motivated them to leave the country, not just move. What I really want is the christening records for Fredrick, Christian, Mary, Charles, and/or Elizabeth to solidify place and parentage. Without those I’ve resisted just taking the name and running with it. I’ve looked up the town on Trip Advisor and would like to visit there-may never happen but it would be very cool!
