Hi Tim

Thanks so much for sharing your family history on WikiTree!

I noticed that you're working on pre-1700-era profiles. This is just a reminder that certifying to work on these types of profiles means that you agree to add valid sources as outlined in the Pre-1700 Certification Quiz. Links to geni.com aren't considered reliable sources for pre-1700 profiles. This is a page that the Norway Project has put together about reliable sources for pre-1700 profiles in Norway - Sources for Pre-1700 Profiles in Norway. You might also consider joining a pre-1700 project that is relevant to your research.

If you need help with this, our G2G Forum is a great place to start. You can get there by clicking the link on the Help menu.

Thanks!

Hi Gillian, thank you for letting me know about this. I'll stop adding sources that reference Geni.com and will try to replace these sources with primary sources as suggested by the page you referred me to.

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
