Oren Keith Hildreth was born on 18 July 1925 in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. He was the son of Benjamin Malcolm Hildreth (1894-1974) and Mary Ethel (Grimmer) Hildreth (1898-1989).^[1][2]

Keith Hildreth was 4 years old when the 1930 United States Census was taken. He was recorded in the household of his father, Benjamin M. Hildreth. The family's surname was spelled "Hildretto" by the enumerator. Other members of the household were his mother Mary E. Hildreth and two older siblings. Keith and his family were living on Knight Road in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida.^[3]

Keith and his family were enumerated on the 1935 Florida State Census for Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. They were still living on Knight Road. Keith was 10 years old at that time.^[4]

When the 1940 United States Census was taken, he was recorded as Orien [sic] K. Hildreth, age 14 years, in the household of his father Ben M. Hildreth. Other members of the household were his mother and two older siblings. The family was living in Hillsborough County, Florida.^[5]

When the 1945 Florida State Census was taken, Keith was again recorded in the household of his father on Knight Road in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. Keith, who was 19 years old, had finished high school and was in the United States Coast Guard.^[6]

Oren Keith Hildreth was a veteran of World War II. He served in the United States Coast Guard. His service began on 07 July 1943 and ended on 08 April 1946. (His gravestone was engraved F1 but I have not determined what that means.)^[7]

Oren Keith Hildreth completed a World War II Draft Registration Card on 15 April 1946. On it he wrote that he was an unemployed veteran.^[8]

Oren Keith Hildreth and Sara Pauline Hudson were married on 25 November 1949 in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. Reverend H. C. Hardin, pastor of the First Methodist Church performed the ceremony. Keith's brother, Howard M. Hildreth was one of the witnesses. The other was Mrs. Walter R. Hudson Jr.^[9][10] They were the parents of at least three children, all of whom may still be living.

Oren and his wife Sara were enumerated on the 1950 United States Census. They were living at 507 Howard Street in Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. Oren, who was 24 years old, was working as a physical science aid for the United States government.^[11]

According to his obituary, "He was owner of O.K. Amoco Service for 25 years. He...was a member of First United Methodist Church." Three children and his wife were mentioned as survivors.^[12]

Oren Keith Hildreth passed away on 20 July 2001 in Brandon, Hillsborough County, Florida.^[13][1][2] He was buried in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Sumter County, Florida.^[14][12]
