Research Notes
There is a record of the marriage of an Ella Hildreth to Joseph E. Lofton in Conecuh County, Alabama on 13 September 1896. Conecuh County neighbors Covington County, where the Ella Hildreth profiled here lived when she was enumerated in the 1880 United States Census. There are no other records found so far to definitively link this Ella Hildreth to Ella Hildreth, daughter of William C. Hildreth.[2] Joseph E. Lofton married again five years later to Carrie L. Carr. [3]
