Biography

Maria Katherine (Mary Catherine) Hikade was born on February 21,1906 in Johnnsdorf, Styrria, Austria (now part of the Czech Republic) to parents Maria Magdalena Tabery and Theodor Hikade .^[1]

She was baptized on February 25,1906 at Tschechien and less than a year later she was on a ship with her mother and three sisters following her father to the United States. They landed at Ellis Island in early September of 1907.

The family settled in West Allis, Wisconsin; just outside of Milwaukee.

Maria / Marie and William "Bill" Beck met and were married sometime around 1926/7 based on data from the 1920 and 1930 Censuses and that their only child, daughter Beverly Jane, was born in January of 1929.

She passed away on March 9, 1966 in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Funeral Sat., Mar. 12. 1:30 p.m., at the Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran. Church. 2840 S. 84th st. Interment Highland Memorial Park.
