Jane Hext was born at Thorpe, Widecombe in the Moor and baptised on July 27, 1712 at St Pancras, Widecombe in the Moor, Devon, England, daughter of John Hext.[1]

Jane married James Beard (1710 - 1801) on December 18, 1733 at St Mary the Virgin in Holne, Devon.[2]
