Thomas H. Hewes was born on April 11, 1868, on Pleasant View Plantation, Pointe Coupee, Louisiana, United States, son of Thomas Hill HEWES (1823–1899) and Anna LANCASTER (1840–1902).[1]

- Conflict with the date of birth between the findagrave memorial and military records. Military records indicate he was born on Jul 30, 1868, and his memorial indicates he was born on 8 Jan 1868. The headstone states he was born Jul 30, 1868; placed a suggestion for the profile manager to correct date of birth.
- Conflict with Cemetery. His obituary reports he would be buried in the family plot at the home plantation, Pleasant View (Pointe Coupee, Louisiana). His headstone and his wife's headstone are in the Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville, Mississippi.
