From the Will of Augustines he states that his two sons, Frederick and Conrad Hess should take care of two of his children Nicholas and Eva who he states needs to be cared for till their deaths. My guess is that they were either physically or mentally challenged or both.

Hess-4015 and Hess-976 appear to represent the same person because: Sharon, this is the other conseqence of the Anna Schell merger. I don't have any particular fix on the birth date other than that I usually pick the consensus of the dates I see on familysearch.
