Ada Hero was born on January 23, 1895 in Jasper, Indiana, United States. she was the daughter of Albert Hero and Emma Brockway.
Marriages and Family
Ada married seven times, though only five have been added as there are not yet enough sources for the other two husbands.
1. Ada (16) married Sherman Thiel (45) (born on May 22, 1866 in Porter) on October 18, 1911 in Porter, Westchester Township.[1] [1] [2]
Their children were:
- Frances M Thiel (1912–1994)[3]
- Pearl Blanche Thiel (1917–2003)[4]
The confusing thing about the children, is they used the various husbands on records when they had to list their father. So Pearl has at least 3 different father's listed on her records.
2. Ada (23) married Roy Henry Howell-Odle (27) (born on June 3, 1891 in Union Mills, Noble Township, LaPorte, Indiana; son of John Henry Howell and Margaret Isabel (Burns) Odle) on July 9, 1918 in LaPorte.[5] [1] [2]
3. Ada (26) married John J Smith (83) (born on April 10, 1838 in Darke, Ohio, United States) on May 25, 1921 in Winamac, Pulaski, Indiana. John and Ada had quite the age difference.[2] [6] [7] [1] [2]
4. Ada (34) married William Noah Wiser (44) (born on April 23, 1885 in Marshall, Indiana) on October 9, 1929 in Porter. [7] [8]
5. It is believed that Ada married Joseph Wilson about 1931, but no marriage record is found. But he is listed as the father of Pearl in her marriage records and her death record.
6. Joseph died about 1932 and Ada then married William Weisiert about 1939, but no marriage record has been found. William is listed as the father of Pearl in one of her records.
7. Ada (47) married William Unruh Arnold (59) (born on October 12, 1883 in Porter County, Indiana, USA; son of Ivan O Arnold Sr and Minnie M. (Unruh) Arnold) on October 14, 1942 in Marshall, Indiana. [5]
Death and Burial
Ada died on August 12, 1968 in Elkhart, Indiana, aged 73. She was buried in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana.[9] [10]
