I have found several dead ends in my family tree. My great grandfather on my mother's side is from Greece but went by the last name of Earnest in America. Also, my great grandfather on my Dad's side was a Decker, but his father died when he was a baby and his mother remarried an Ansley, which is my maiden name. I was adopted and now that I am getting older, I want to pass down my family tree to my children and hopefully one day grandchildren. I love history, the good and even the bad. Learning from our past is my hobby.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
I see that you mentioned adoption in your bio here. By adding your branches to our shared tree, there may be an opportunity for someone to find you!
Adoptees: How to Set Up Your Profile is a WikiTree help page specifically designed for new members who indicate they are adoptees. It is also helpful for non-adopted members who have living adoptees in their family tree. The page includes links to more resources, like our Adoption Angels Project, basic search techniques, information on DNA, etc.
