William Bryan Henn was born on 22 October 1917 at Dublin, Ireland.[1] He was the son of Colonel William Francis Henn and Geraldine Frances Jane Mahon.
William was an aviator. He received his Great Britain, Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate on 21 November 1938.
In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was living with parents and siblings at Parton Grange, Churchdown, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England. Single.
Occupation: Civil Aviation Instructor
He joined the RAFVR in October 1939 as an Airman u/t Pilot. After completing his training he joined No. 1 AACU. He fought in the 2nd World War; he joined 501 Squadron at Gravesend on 19 August 1940 and flew his first sortie on 21 August 1940. He was wounded on 2 September 1940, after which he lost his operational flying category. He did not fly again with 501 until 17th December 1940.
He married Eliza MacDonald in 1941 in London, England.[2]

He was later posted to Alberta, Canada as a flying instructor. He returned to England in 1943 and went to RAF Transport Command, still as a flying instructor. He was awarded the Air Force Cross (1945); he was released from the RAF in 1947 as a Flight Lieutenant.
William joined BEA as a Captain, retiring in 1968 and then joined the Civil Aviation Authority as Flight Operations Inspector.
He died on 19 December 1978 at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England.[3] His Will was proved on 5 March 1978 at Oxford.
