Joseph Henderson was born on July 28, 1854[1] in Cole County, Missouri[2] to Benjamin Henderson and Sarah Howard.[3]
According to the 1860 census, Joseph lived with his parents and siblings in Cole County, Missouri.[3]
On February 22, 1873, Joseph married Nettie Donnell in Cole County, Missouri.[4]
In 1879, Joseph moved to Jefferson City and accepted the position of foreman in the prison brick yard.[2]
In 1892, he was elected to the position of City Marshall in Jefferson City.[2]
In 1898, he became the Sheriff of Cole County.[2]
Joseph died on February 2, 1907. He is buried in the Woodland-Old City Cemetery in Jefferson City, Missouri.[1]
