Mediators are a subset of Project Leaders. They are highly trusted community members who are willing to do something that few volunteers are willing to do: mediate and attempt to resolve escalated conflicts.

Individual Mediators conduct formal mediations when problems cannot be resolved through informal mentoring.

The Mediators Council — a group of no less than six individual Mediators — discusses cases and unanimously chooses options from the Mediators Council Menu when there is a failed mediation.
