Birth & Baptism

No marriage document to Joseph, to provide surname and father's name, has been found.

The profile for her on FamilySearch^[1] gives her surname as Heldth but provides no sources. (The Heldt surname in India comes from Alexander Heldt (abt.1801-1865) ; one of his descendants could have been Mildred's father)

Mildred was born on the 23rd of June 1906 according to the Incoming passenger record in 1955 ^[2], and the year given on her death registration^[3]; however her Naturalization certificate issued in 1968^[4] gives the year as 1904, as does the profile for her on FamilySearch, which also gives a birth location of Agra, India.^[1]

No baptism record has been found.

There is a record for Mildred Snell in the set Britain, Naturalisations 1844-1990 at Ancestry. The originating archive being The National Archives, Kew.^[7] The piece description for the record set says: "Home Office: Immigration and Nationality Department: Duplicate Certificates of Naturalisation, Declarations of British Nationality, and Declarations of Alienage. 1948 British Nationality Act: Duplicate Certificates of Registration as Citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies. Miscellaneous. Registrations of British Nationality: R1 105501 - 106000. (Described at item level)." Mildred's certificate number was R1/105839, so placing her in the range described at item level this description says: "Certificate Number: R1/105839. Name: Mildred Snell. Date of Birth: 23 June 1904. Country of Nationality or Birth: India. City or Town of Birth: [unspecified]. Date of Certificate: 14 August 1968. Home Office Reference: S 274193."^[8]

Death

Mildred Snell, DOB 23.6.1906, died in Q3 of 1982; her death was registered in the district of Wandsworth, London. Vol 15, p1115. ^[3]

The profile for her on FamilySearch^[1]gives her date of death as 4th of September 1982 but provides no sources.

The family surname is spelt variously on different documents: Held, Helth, Helt; Heeth; but Heldt seems to have been the prefered choice of descendants from the late 1800s
