Biography

Evelyn was born in 1922. She was the daughter of Philip Heldt and Frances Geyer. She passed away in 2006.

She was born in Smith Township, North Dakota to Phillip and Frances (Geyer) Heldt on October 4, 1922. Evelyn attended school in Sarles, North Dakota until the family moved to Ashland, Ore. where she completed high school. On December 18, 1944 Evelyn married MSgt. George Gene Potter. They lived the military life and by 1952 settled in Oregon, living in Oregon City, Dallas, and Lebanon. After retiring from Clackamas County Grange Supply she later ran the office of the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery. While living in Lebanon, they were involved in Quarter Horse racing. Evelyn also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rebeccas and in her earlier years led youth groups for 4-H and the Methodist Church.
