Biography

Grace Ethel Hedden was born to William Edwin Hedden (1862-1918) and Lydia Miriam (Robst) Hedden (1865-1932) on 12 Jul 1898 in Newark, Essex County, NJ.^[1][2]

She was the fifth of seven children - six girls and one boy. She grew up at 24 Warwick St, Newark, Essex County, NJ, about a mile from downtown.^{[3][4][5][6][7]}

She married Clarence Edward Turton II. They had two sons.

They lived at 15 Burnett Place, Nutley, Essex County, NJ in 1930,^[8] 161 Church St, Nutley, Essex County NJ in 1940,^[9] and 70 Glen Ridge Ave, Glen Ridge, Essex County, NJ in 1950.^[10]

Before children Grace was a teacher.^[7] In 1950, after raising children, she was listed as a grade school substitute in public school.^[10]

Grace died on 5 Oct 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River, Ocean County NJ.^[11][12] She is buried at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, Middlesex County, NJ.^[13]
