Biography
Catherine was born in 1842 and was the daughter of John Hazlett and Catherine Buchanan.
She emigrated to Australia and settled in Victoria.
In 1866 she married Samuel Neely at Sandhurst on New Years Eve.
Catherine and Samuel had 6 children in their marriage, Samuel 1867, John (Jack) 1868, Martha Spencer 1870, Catherine (Kate) Davies 1873, Daniel (Dan) 1875 and Harry 1877.
She was widowed in 1877 when Samuel died aged 38.
Catherine didn't remarry. She settled in Bairnsdale where she passed away in 1921 at her Turnbull Street home. Probate of her Will was given to her eldest son Samuel.
Catherine Neely is buried at Bairnsdale Cemetery, Section Church of England, Bairnsdale, Victoria.
