Biography

John Haye was born in 1765 in Province of North Carolina, son of Gilbert (Hay) Hayes (abt. 1740–1778) and Eugenie Jackson (1737–1834).

John (21) married Mary (Ivy) Hayes (22) (born in 1764 in Virginia Colony; daughter of William Ivey and Mary (Fisher) Pope) on 3 May 1787 in Opelousas, St Landry. Their known children were:

  1. Rebecca (Hayes) Martin (1794–abt. 1835)
  2. William John Hay (abt. 1810–abt. 1860)

In the 1810 census John was in Opelousas, Louisiana, United States.[1]

John died on 12 Nov 1814 in Opelousas, St Landry, Louisiana, United States, aged 48.
