Mary (Haydon) Gunn was born in New South Wales, Australia
Mary Philippa Haydon was born in 1914 in Murrurundi, New South Wales, Australia. She was the second daughter of Frederick Haydon and Grace Aplin. [1]
Mary married Bill Gunn in 1939 in Murrurundi. [2]
MURURRUNDI, Thursday. Flowers decorated St. Paul's Church of England, Murrurundi, last night for the wedding of Miss Mary Phillipa Haydon, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Haydon, of Bloomfield, Blandford, to Mr. William Archer Gunn; son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gunn, of Kildonan, Goondiwindi.[3]
Making their home on Bill's sheep station near Goondiwindi, in south west Queensland, the couple subsequently had a son, Bill, and a daughter, Mary.
When Bill was knighted in 1961 for his services to the wool industry, Mary became entitled as Lady Gunn.
Aged about 88 years, Mary passed away in 2002 at Goondiwindi, survived by Bill, and their children and their families.
