HAYDON—LATHAM. (Contributed). A lovely gown of ivory silk broderie auglaise was worn by the bride, and a cyclamen taffeta, gown was worn by the matron of honor, when Miss Norma June Latham was married to Mr. Marcus Haydon, at the Taree Methodist Church, by Rev. E. W. Hyde, on 13th Sept. Mrs. Kerr played the organ and during the ceremony Mrs. Hamilton sang Because. The bride, who is the youngest daughter of Mrs. L. R. Latham, of Taree, was attended by her sister (Mrs. Bruce Kilcran, of Sydney) and was given away by her mother. The bridegroom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Haydon, of Mooral Creek, was attended by Mr. Bruce Kilcran. The bridal gown was styled on classical lines and was gracefully trained. Her long tulle veil was held by two white doves and embroidered with tiny sprays of lily of the valley. She wore a handsome gold pendant, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a shower bouquet of cream rock lilies, the gift of Mrs. R. Thompson, Harrington. The matron of honor's frock had a very full skirt shirred at the waist. The bodice was fully shirred with square neckline and puffed sleeves. She wore a small matching halo hat of tulle and flowers and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas and stocks. The reception was held at the home of the bride. The bride's mother received the guests in a teal blue embossed frock and with it wore a black hat and shoulder spray of pansies. The beautiful three-tiered wedding cake was made by the bride's mother and was daintily iced and decorated by Mrs. C. Collins, aunt of the bride. The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents, including a number of cheques. When leaving for Sydney by car the bride travelled in a smart pleated frock of silver, navy and mauve tonings, with furs and mauve hat with matching accessories. The happy couple sailed for an extended tour of New Zealand, where they have since arrived. |
