Bernard Haydon was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Bernard Haydon was born on 7 April 1847 in Blandford, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Thomas Haydon and Margaret Phillip Wightman.

Bernard and Blanche Elizabeth Wakeford were married on 23 July 1879 in Murrurundi, New South Wales, Australia. [1]

Their children were:

Bernard passed away in September 1932 in Blandford, Colony of New South Wales. [2]

OBITUARY MR. BERNARD HAYDON.
MURRURUNDI,
Tuesday. The death has occurred of Mr. Bernard Haydon, of "Bloomfield" Blandford, at the age of 85 years. Mr. Haydon, one of the pioneers of the Upper Hunter, was one of the district's leading graziers.
Familiarly known as the "Grand Old Man," he was born at Blandford on April 7, 1847.
He took a prominent part in the public life of the district. He was appointed a member of the Local Land Boards at Murrurundi and Scone in 1885, and rendered continuous service in that capacity until the end of last year.
During his 46 years' service he was absent from only two or three meetings. He was noted as a friend of the selectors, and many of the early beginners on the land in the Upper Hunter remember his generosity and sense of justice. He was senior magistrate of the district having been ap pointed in 1881. For many years he was chairman of the Upper Hunter Pastoral Protection Board.
The late Mr. Haydon was one of the original members of the Road Trust, and assisted in having many of the district road works, carried out.
He was a lover, of horses, and bred some fine performers. He won many races at Randwick, and on the suburban and country courses.
He was a keen churchman, and was Senior Church War den at St. Paul's Church of England, Murrurundi.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Boggabilla), Mrs. Regg (Hamilton Downs, Queensland) and Miss Maude Haydon (Blandford),and three sons, Mr. F. B Haydon (Blandford), Mr. G.B. Haydon (Warrah Ridge), and Mr. B. B Haydon (Murrurundi) There are also 12 grandchildren. [3]
