Hunter was born in 1882. His mother was Easter Hawkins.^[1]

His father was Henry Dunston.^[2]

He married Helen Lewis on 15 March 1905 in Kings County, New York, USA.^[3] They had one child, a daughter named Ruth.

Hunter passed away on October 24, 1949 in Vance County, North Carolina, USA of injuries following an auto accident.^[4][5]

His obituary says he was a former president of the "Vance County Negro Fair" and "active in civic affairs among the Negro people."^[6]

Research Notes

FindAGrave gives his father as Henry Dunston. His death certificate gives his parents as Esther and Moses Hawkins; Moses was his grandfather. Henry Dunston was probably the son of Moses' second wife, Louisa Dunston.
