Biography

Francis, son of Stephen Hatt and Ann Barton, was born on 6 November 1795 and baptised on 12 November 1795 in Holborn, Middlesex, England.^[1]

Francis became an apprentice to his father Stephen Hatt on 28 November 1810. His father was a member of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and by trade a Painter and Glazier and living in Duke's Court, Bow Street. When Francis completed his apprenticeship he was admitted to the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and the Freedom of the City on 11 December 1817.^[2]

Francis married Alice Aspland Cross on 15 January 1821 in St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, Middlesex, England.^[3]

In the 1841 census Francis (age 45) was in St Mary Islington West, Middlesex, England.^[4]
