Margaret was born in 1828. She was the daughter of Peter Hasler and Elizabeth Kolb. She passed away in 1907.
Margaret STONE was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland, March 14th, 1828 and departed this life at the home of her son Will STONE, near Scotland, this county, December 31, 1907; aged seventy-nine years, nine months and seventeen days. She came o America in the year 1845, and with her parents, five brothers and one sister located in Taylor Township, near Scotland, where she has spent most of her life.
She was married to Riley M. STONE on January 30th, 1853 and to this union there were born eleven children. Six of whom are dead and five survive her as follows: Peter M. STONE, John A. STONE, Clara E. ASDELL, of Daviess County; William R. STONE and Jennie STONE. She also leaves two brothers, John HASLER, Taylor Township and Fred HASLER, Cass Township, and twenty-five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn for her. In early life she united with the M. E. church and has lived as ideal Christian life since that time. She died in the triumph of a living faith and gave many expressions of her readiness and willingness to ho home to rest. The funeral was held at the M. C. church in Scotland, Wednesday noon, January 1, conducted by Rev. ALLEN, of Newberry. Interment in the Scotland Cemetery.
