I believe I found the portrait about 30 years ago. I just did aGoogle search for “Martin Prevost portrait”. And it just popped up as the first item. Shows up on Geneanet. I do not recall the original location.

I could put a warning under the item that it may not be a copy of an almost 400 year old depiction of Martin. Do you think it necessary?

Hi Craig I would like to know the source for the picture you uploaded for our ancestor Martin Prevost Is it a real picture of himself? Or just a random pic that you used please
posted by [deleted]
I obtained the portrait from a genealogical archive in Canada. I believe it is of Martin as it purported to be him.

I ran your kit with mine on gedmatch and it says we are Largest segment = 7 cM

Total Half-Match segments (HIR) 7cM (0.196 Pct) Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 7.5 On was on Bickel -217 was wondering if you had any Lingers?? RAchel Bickel who married William Linger . I found new information that John Michael Bickel 1771 was her father and his father was Jacob Bickel 1743

Hi Mary, no Lingers. The Bickle name morphed into Pickle in my family. My maternal great grandmother was Martha (Fanny) Pickle. I believe John Michael Bickle and his father Jacob is in my tree. The first time I heard the name Bickle was Travis Bickle, the character played by DeNiro in the movie Taxi Driver. I have gotten a lot of matches from Germany, not surprisingly, Bickle if of German origin.

Sorry for delayed response. Just noticed your remarks. Not aware of any other Lingers.

Thomas Harvey (died 1838, Knox, TN) who married Mariah Jones. For example, William Harvey (b. 1749) husband of Lenah Gentry, and Gov. Thomas Harvey, son of John Harvey and Dorothy Tooke, are in entirely different haplogroups on the Harvey project at FamilyTree DNA. I hope for a descendant of a European forebear of Thomas to one day provide definitive Y-dna proof of his ancestry. Chuck Harvey and I are the sole residents of group 80 on the Harvey Y project thus far. The two prospects asserted on other trees are in group 20 and group 25. Scaled innovation.com reveals my most recent Haplogroup originated in Cornwall, England Approx 500 years ago.

Hi Craig, saw your edit on Marie Olivier, adding a middle name per PRDH. Please note that in French there is no such thing as a middle name, doesn't even translate properly. They are ALL given names.

Hi Craig, I can see you have changed the birth date and added death date and places for both to Thomas Yorke https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Yorke-158 but I can't see that you have added sources for this information. Can you please add the source or sources to either the biography or as a comment on his page. Thank you

After over four after your message to me, I saw it today. I search my records and did not find the source for the changes to birth and place thereof, but reading your excellent bio on Thomas and his age you state at his father’s death. It does appear that 1520 would be the correct date of birth. I was working when I started with Wiki, I hope to become more educated and adept at sourcing.

With additional investigation I believe my Thomas Yorke dob and place were taken from a book entitled Pedigees of Lincolnshire published 1902, still can’t access. A Curator living in Lincolnshire for Geni appears iisted as a source as of 2020 there.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz, Craig!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

Based on your contributions I suggest this project: US Southern Colonies Project for Virginia. Leaders are Paula J and Mags Gaulden and Virginia Project which is part of US_history, the leader is Ellen Smith.

If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
