The 1870 US Census lists a "William Still" who is 3 years old. No relationship information. In the 1880 Census, he is listed as William Weddington and relationship as "Son". The ages matches up. We assume that he was adopted, probably as the result of the aftermath of the Civil War. Note that this was after the death of her husband, Absolem Barr Weddington.
Obituary
Mrs. Sarah T. Weddington, 79 years of age, died last evening at 7:30 at her home, No. 900 South Caldwell street, after an illness of pneumonia, which she contracted last Friday.
The deceased is survived by three children, Mr. Frank Weddington and Mesdames Mary E. Richards and Lizzie Hargett. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Methodist church, from which the funeral will be conducted. The hour of the services has not been decided.
