Biography

My name is William Edgar Harry. I was born at Saint Vincent's Hospital, Erie, Pennsylvania on December 29, 1959. I am the oldest of five children to be born to Edgar Thomas Harry and Sherry Gaye Swift. I am a veterans of the United States Navy as a Cryptologist and of the Army National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst. I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science.

I met my wife, Denise Lucille McNulty, while in Jr. Achievement while high school. We never had a relationship until my last semester of college.

However, I got reacquainted in January 1985 after return to the US from my last Navy Tour. We attended Church together and August 5 of 1985 I took her out for her Birthday. We attended college together and I dated a great many young ladies until my last semester when I realized that she was to be my soul mate. Denise admitted later that she knew from that first date on her birthday that I was the one she was going to be married to.

I was involved in Theta Chi Fraternity and a little brother of Alpha Gamma Delta Soriety. My fratnity days were one of fun and learning.

When I graduated from College, my hope was to return to US Navy as an Commissioned Officer or join the Central Intelligence Agency as a Analyst. However, there was a freeze on federal employment and with my wedding only months away, I agreed to accept a position as Assistant Director of Residence Life for University of Pittsburgh/Titusville Branch. After marriage, I accepted a position with Bowling Green State University in Student Affairs. I enjoyed the work however, I was never home due to the job requirements. So, Denise and I moved back to Pennsylvania to be close to our family. We had also found out that Denise was pregnant with Nathaniel Gabriel Harry, our first born. Eventually, I accepted a position as Chief Clerk of Crawford County and was responsible for facilitation of Executive Government Board Meetings, hearing officer for bargaining unit and lobbyist on behalf of County Government for matters impacting County Government. During this time, our daugther Emily Elizabeth Harry was born and it was not uncommon for me to work 100 hrs per week. It was during this time my mother was rediagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and died. My father died nearly two years to the date of her passing. It was a major impact on me and I felt that I needed to reexamine my life. I left county government and started workin in the private section. I found out in 2000 that I had been diagnosed with Carcinoid Syndrome and had surgery. I was later rediagnosed with it and started chemo therapy for which I took for nearly four years. During this time, my mind, my physical and my spirit was tested. I renewed my relationship with God and am active in my church and my community.
