Biography

Harriett was born May 15, 1874 in Muskoka, Ontario to George Harrison and Ellen Turner.

In 1881, 7-year-old Harriet was one of 4 children in the home of George and Ellen Harrison. The family was living in the Muskoka district.^[1]

By 1891 Harriet had moved west with her parents and siblings George and Anne and the family was farming in the Qu'Appelle District of The Territories.^[2]

In 1901, 27 year old Harriet was married to Cyrus and living near Hyde in Assiniboia District of The Territories with their three children, Annie, Laura and Edward.^[3]

She passed away in 1948 at Lloydminster, Alberta at the home of her daughter.^[4] Harriett was buried at Grenfell Cemetery in Grenfell, Saskatchewan.^[5]

• "Harriett Perkins(nee Harrison)was born May 15,1874 at Muskoka,ON. she came west with her father George Harrison on a covered wagon with a survey party before the railroad. George found a spot in the valley to homestead, Harreitt's brother George Harrison married Eliza Hobson, daughter of Loius Hobson. Harriett married Cyrus Perkins in 1894,the service was performed by REV. John Lewis at Methodist Manse. They had 3 sons- William(uncle Bill),Melville & Albert & 8 daughters- Annie (King Thompson),Edith (Clearance Hodge), Jean(Roy C. Hodge), Ethel,Neta,3 of the daughters passed away at young ages Agnes, Laura,& Violet. My grandmother was the late Jean Hodge,my grandfather the late Roy Cecil Hodge, he served in WW1,& WW2 died. My mother Agnes Violet Ulmer [nee Hodge]my father Edward W.Ulmer."
