Samuel Harding was born on February 2, 1742 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Nathaniel Harding (~1706–1748) and Mercy Purrington (1711–1761).

Samuel (34) married Joanna Lombard (25) (born on June 11, 1751 in Truro; daughter of Ephraim Lombard Sr. and Joanna (Vickery) Lombard) on November 25, 1776 in Truro.[1] Their children were:

He served a single one-year term as Representative to the Great and General Court of Massachusetts for Truro from 1775–1776.[3]

In 1800, Samuel (58) was living in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine. [4]

Samuel died on June 19, 1805 in Brunswick, Cumberland, Massachusetts, United States, aged 63. He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine.[5]
