In the 1865 census in Klyvegata, Vestsida, Porsgrunn, the 1 year old Herman August Hansen, birth place Porsgrund, is listed in the household of Hans Nielsen and Kirsten Karine Nielsdatter as their son.[2]
He died on 29 November 1876 at Vestsida, Porsgrunn.[3]
