I see you are working on merges, you may want to review Matching and Merging FAQ to understand your responsibilities in doing merges.
Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the Contents Section text and make sure there are Sources to support the merge.
You will also want to review all other family members for potential duplicates and review any conflicts in parents. If you have any questions, just let me know. Thank you for your help in our global WikiTree project to create one World Tree linking as many ancestors as possible.
We don't disagree that the book states that his name is Mathew Hammond. Please look at the other sources, one primary being his marriage license that gives his name as Jonathan. Also, the diary account of my line gives Jonathan.
Over at Find A Grave, a source similar to yours was given as "W.V.R.; Hammond Genealogy, p. 283, says that Matthew(7) had a son Jonathan(8) b. 1761 (brother of Matthew(8) b. 1759) but it is not in W.V.R. " This isn't referring to the book you are using since that info isn't on p 283. On page 305 its talking about the Rev. War and it doesn't list a brother, Jonathan born 1761. It does give a source for Jonathan and Mathew joining Rev. Aug 8, 1776 and 7th. It doesn't give a birth or relationship for these two. Can you find the jonathan 5 mentioned as his father in this book? What do you think about the marriage license that said she married Jonathan Hammond ect?
Hi cousin Wayne, are you still here? I've written a copy of times about Jonathan and or Mathew Hammond and wife, Hannah HOISINGTON. I believe that both men are the same person and left some sources for you to look at and tell me what you think. I come down threw two of their children. Thank you. Carole Alden
