James Robert V Hamer was born in 1909 in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of James Hamer and Mary Smith.^[1]

In the 1921 Canada census, James R V Hamer (age 12) was living in Byng Inlet, Parry Sound, Ontario, with parents James Hamer and Mary A Hamer, and siblings Harold and Fred.^[1]

He passed away in 1994. ^[2]
