Arthur was born on the 3rd August 1889[1] in Kawakawa. He was the son of Thomas Halliday and Adelaide Williams. He Joined Bn at Mudros, 29 September 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 29 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Embarked Port Said to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916. Wounded in action, 27 September 1916 (gun shot wound, back); admitted to No 3 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 28 September 1916; transferred to England, 29 September 1916, and admitted to 3rd Southern General Hospital, Oxford, 30 September 1916. Died of wounds (gun shot wound, spine; paraplexia; heart failure), 14 October 1916.[2][3][4]
