Biography
William was born in 1910 in Parkneuk, Auchintibber.
Auchintibber was a village/hamlet a mile south west of Blantyre[1]. Many of the buildings appear to have been demolished by the mid twentieth century.
Son of John Halliday (ploughman) and Agnes Boyd Richmond (farm servant) who were living at 67 Denmark St, Glasgow.
William married Florence on 3 October 1931 in Loughborough when he was a "commercial motor driver".[2]
