Sarah lived in the same place as her future husband Alexander Moore in Trafalgar, Halton county, Canada West in 1851-2; on her father George's farm. In the 1851 census, Sarah (age 20, single), was living with her father George (age 41, farmer), and siblings: Walter (age 18, laborer), William (age 16), and Barbara (age 11 or 16). Her mother Mary isn't present and may have passed away.[3]

Sometime before 1854 she married Alexander Moore and moved to a farm in Southwold, Elgin county, Ontario, Canada. They lived beside Alexander's father William's family household. Sarah and Alexander had five known children:

  1. Mary (Moore) Hunter (abt.1854-1935)
  2. William Moore/More, 1855-1927
  3. George Moore (abt.1859-1933)
  4. Unknown son, died 9 months old, before 1861.
  5. Walter Moore (abt.1864-abt.1942)

In 1854 they had their first child Mary. In the 1861 census Sarah (age 31) was living with her husband Alex (age 32, laborer) and three children: Mary (7), William (5), George (3) in Southwold, Elgin, Canada West. Their faith was Church of Scotland. The census indicates that they had had a 9 month old son die due to debility.[4]

In the 1871 census Sarah (age 42), was living with her husband Alexander More (age 42), and four children: Mary (18), William (16), George (14), and Walter (7) in Southwold, Elgin, Ontario, Canada.[5] They had four children: Mary, William, George, and Walter; all born in Ontario.

In 1881 they had an Edith Halliday living with them, 18 yrs. old.[6]

In 1882 her oldest child Mary left home to get married and moved to Michigan, United States. Her son William moved to California United States and married there. Her other two sons Walter and George stayed to run the farm for awhile.[7]

Sarah's husband Alexander passed away in 1894 in Southwold, Elgin, Ontario.

Sarah passed away in 1896 about 66 yrs. old, widowed. She is buried in Hunter Cemetery, Elgin, Ontario, Canada beside her husband Alexander. [8][9][10]
