Biography

Joseph Hallett (Robert), was born July 20, 1800, at Upper Brighton, Carleton Co., N.B., son of Robert and Mary (Lomax) Hallett. He died February 20, 1869, at Upper Brighton. He married Elizabeth Ann Smith, January 28, 1832, in Carleton Co. She was born November 3, 1814, in Carleton Co., and died after 1891. Joseph was a farmer. He lived at Upper Brighton, Carleton Co. Elizabeth remained a widow for more than 22 years. I do not know when she died, but the New Brunswick census of 1871, 1881 and 1891, all showed her living with her son Ephraim in the Parish of Brighton, Carleton Co. In 1891 her age was recorded as 76 years.
