Leesberg’s beloved World War II veteran Jack H. Hallett Sr. died on May 15 at the age of 101.
Helett spent the last few years of his life promoting aviation and becoming a staple in the community by working with young people at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) in Leesburg.
At age 99 she was given an honorary flight aboard a P51 Mustang, received a Quilt of Valor by the Daughters of the American Revolution on her 100th birthday, and served as a guest of honor at the 2020 Georgefest parade at Eustis.
Jack H. Hallett, Sr., 101, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Jack was a Major in the United States Air Force and a pilot in World War II.
