Biography

Ruhamah Hallett, b. say 1644; m. (1) Sandwich 14 Dec 1664 Job Bourne[1], son of Richard; m. (2)William Hearsey of Hingham.[2][3] They had five children together, all born in Sandwich.[4]

Job died intestate in February of 1676/7. In March of 1676/7, "Att a Court of His Maj.," the estate was settled. Ruhamah, her brother John Hallett, and Elisha Bourne were named administrators.[5]

Ruhamah was married second to William Hersey of Hingham.[6] Between 1691 and September of 1714, "Ruhamah Hersey" of Sandwich is named in several legal documents.[4] On 13 September 1714, her daughter, Hannah and her husband Jonathan Morey signed a receipt for her share of her estate. [7] The date and location of her death has not been found.
