The biography for Cindy Hall is empty. What can you add?
Spent the first 4.5 years of my life residing at 711 Morrill Avenue SE, Roanoke, VA. This was a house that my Great Grandmother, Maggie Sue Martin Tingler, purchased in 1923, removing her family from Paint Bank, Craig Co., VA to the "big city."
In the early 1950's my Grandparents (Uneita & Kermit) purchased the house from her. In the spring of 1969 our new house was completed and my family made the move to Vinton, Roanoke, VA.
I attended the following schools: Miss Whitlow's private kindergarten, East Vinton Elementary (grades 1-2), Hardy Road Elementary (3-6) (now W. E. Cundiff Elementary), William Byrd Intermediate School (7-8), and Wm. Byrd HS (9-12).
I became interested in genealogy 25+ years ago. My Great Grandmother's "life's story" was what started the ball rolling. Between my line and my (late) husband's line I'm researching over 100 surnames. However, my main interests lie in the following names: Tingler, Hall, Ledgerwood, and Austin.
I take genealogy very seriously and am all about actual/physical documentation - NOT data from some random family tree and not perceived documentation such as found on Ancestry where they quote their own source.

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Please do not use abbreviations as these can affect finding sources and sourcing is important on all profiles.
It looks like One Name Studies Project and the United States History Project would be good fits with the tags and comments you entered.
Is there a particular time period or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects if one fits then visit the project page for more information and how to join.
Any questions? Let me know. happy to help :-)

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum Do you have any inventors in your family tree? Welcome!
