Elizabeth was born in Guilford, VT on 23 Oct 1831 to Nathan Tanner (sometimes "Tamer") Haley and Harriet Houghton.[1] She passed away in 1883 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas where her husband Samuel Nehemiah had taken her to try and recover her health. In an account written by Samuel's daughter Elizabeth by his second wife Cerelda, a letter written by Samuel to his children in 1883 is quoted extensively and verbatim so Elizabeth must have had the letter in her possession in 1963 when she wrote her brief family biography. In the letter, Samuel told his children of their mother's death and asked them to send money to Eureka Springs to help pay for her burial.
Elizabeth and Samuel Nehemiah Tubbs were married 20 Feb 1851 in Guilford, Vermont.[2]
Her death record or obituary has not been found but she appeared in the 1880 US federal census with husband Samuel Nehemiah Tubbs; he next appeared in the 1885 Kansas state census as a widower living with their daughter Olive and her family.
Biographical information about their residences and children appears on her husband's profile.
